Casal St Estavao is the name of the hamlet where the property is found.The farmhouse is located at the end of a forest road that winds its way through the Pine and Eucalyptus trees which form the Serra de Lousa mountains.There are stunning mountain and forest views to all sides of the property.Three kms to the north you can see the medevial fortress town of Penela which is overlooked by its 11th century castle.The old university city of Coimbra is 20 miutes away by car.The city boasts the oldest university in Portugal and some say Europe.
The knights templar city of Tomar is 35 kms south with its magnificent Convento do Christo that looks down on the town.
    The farmhouse has mains water,electricity and a phone line connected.There has been some recent work carried out which includes a new roof.More renovation is needed ,although the house is habitable in its present state.Plans have been approved by the local authority to renovate the property to a 3 bed/2 bathroomed dwelling at a cost of approx 30,000 euros.However someone with a construction/DIY background could half the cost should they take the work on themselves.
