Description for this listing

The two storey villa has stunning views to Castelo do Bode lake, Portugal's second largest reservoir and it has frontage to the lake with a paved slipway and jetty. Though the villa was constructed 10 years ago, it has many traditional features including an intricate roof design and decorative wooden ceilings. It is fully double glazed with traditional style Portuguese shutters.

The entrance door enters directly into a fully fitted spacious kitchen with granite work surfaces. The oven, hob and fridge freezer are integrated. Off the kitchen there is a large pantry. There is a hallway off the kitchen,which has a staircase to the first floor. A triple aspect living room is accessed off the hallway through a stone archway. The living room has a decorative ceramic tiled floor, a pan tile fireplace and three sets of patio doors, which lead out to a spacious covered terrace, which is currently being used for dining al fresco. To the rear of the villa there is a large bar and entertaining room, complete with a wood and stone serving balcony. Off this bar there is a fully tiled bathroom and a sauna. There is an office to the ground floor which is currently being used as a fourth bedroom

There is a spacious landing area to the first floor. The master bedroom has a hardwood floor, fitted wardrobes, ensuite bathroom and a set of patio doors which lead out to a covered veranda which has good views over the lake. There are two further double bedrooms, both with hardwood floors and patio doors to a covered veranda with lake views. A family sized bathroom completes the accommodation.

The villa has a 10m x 4m tiled swimming pool with a stone paved patio.The garden is completely walled and it is landscaped with cobbled paths, lawns, mature shrubs and palm trees. The driveway leads directly to the lake, where there is a jetty for mooring boats.

The villa is situated in the small hamlet of Vila Nova, which is ten minutes drive from the market town of Serra, which has a pharmacy, butchers, cafes, bars, mini-market, post office, petrol station and bank machine. The historic town of is approximately 20 minutes drive from the villa and the closest airport is Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' drive.
