Description for this listing

The cottage, which is set over one floor, is connected to both mains water and electricity and is in a reasonable condition for it's age. The property, which has wooden framed windows and doors, does require some modernisation work, but is deceptively spacious. The cottage has some traditional features including internal wooden shutters and parquet wooden flooring to some of the rooms. The cottage is set on a relatively quiet road within the village and has a private walled garden with mature trees to the rear. The main entrance to the cottage, which has a part glazed aluminium framed door, leads into a central hallway with a parquet floor. Off this hallway are three bedrooms, all of which have parquet wood floors and internal wooden shutters. The bathroom is also accessed off the hallway and is partially tiled. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink. The kitchen has a tiled floor and is situated at the rear of the cottage. There is a large, traditional style fireplace within the kitchen along with a double sink and drainer. Off the kitchen there is a pantry which has a wooden staircase giving access to the property's attic. At present the attic is used for storage purposes only, but could be converted into an additional bedroom if required. The property has a wooden beamed roof, which is in a reasonable condition, though may require a little attention. At the rear of the cottage there is a walled garden, measuring approximately 120 square metres. This garden is flat and there is a sitting area already in place along with a variety of mature fruit trees including orange and lemon. The property is situated within the heart of the village of Sao Miguel do Rio Torto and as such there are neighbouring properties around. The property is within walking distance of several cafes, bakeries, grocery shops, bars, health centre and pharmacies. The larger town of Abrantes is around five minutes drive from the property. The property is easy to located and has good access links to the A23 east west dual carriageway. The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and a quarter hours' by car.
