I am renting a one bedroom flat with a lot of charm situated in Mouraria, in the Historical Lisbon center. Mouraria shares the same hill of the Saint Jorge Castle being one of the charismatic and oldest neighbourhoods of Lisbon, built by the Moors during the Arabian occupation initiated in the VIII century. Here one can appreciate narrow streets with little stairs and small corners that form one of the most colourful medina of Lisbon. It was still in Mouraria where “Fado” was born and it was sung in the taverns and houses very much connected to the bohemian life.
